Another new virtual card is here, from Onekey.

🪧Front row reminder:

  • This is a promotional article, not an advertisement, but I want to upgrade my card through AFF.
  • The scope and discount information of the card are time-sensitive and only serve as a commitment to my current experience.
  • If you can't wait, you can first register one.

First, let's talk about the issuer#

Unlike Depay before, I have never heard of this company, but this virtual card platform comes from OneKey. I have seen their promotion on V2ex before. They have been doing hardware wallets for several years.

Now, let's talk about the features of this card.#

First, it is a VISA virtual card.#

Compared to me, the feature is that Depay cannot open a VISA card.

The card offers cost-effective consumption~~ to some extent~~.#

Account LevelRecharge Rate
Black Card1.5%
Platinum Card1.7%
Gold Card1.9%
Silver Card2.1%

This is the recharge rate provided by OneKey Card. At first glance, it seems more expensive than Depay?

Depay has a maximum of 2% and a minimum of 0.8%. The standard card used by most people is 1.35%.
However, OneKey does not have the process of converting virtual currency to fiat currency, while Depay does:

image
The exchange fee here is approximately 1-0.99, 1%. In other words, after adding it, the minimum usage fee for Depay's standard card is 1.8%, and for the standard card, it is 2.35%.

Although, it's all about saving if possible.

However, let me add that although OneKey does not support USDT recharge at the moment, there is a sentence:
USDC is recharged as USD at a 1:1 ratio.
USDT is recharged as USD according to the real-time exchange rate.
I don't quite understand why they are both stablecoins, but one is cheaper? (Maybe) The answer GPT gave me is:

Most levels have no monthly fees#

Except for the "Silver Card," which has a monthly fee of $1, all other levels have no monthly fees. Depay has monthly fees for three types of cards, and most people who open the standard card also have a monthly fee of $1.

Real-name verification is automated#

This, how should I put it, always feels like this method is somewhat less prone to information leakage.

What about the disadvantages?#

Okay, I mentioned the advantages earlier, but they are not doing charity work either. The advantages can be considered: if you insist on saying so.

Because the fees for different levels of OneKey are still a bit scary:

image
From left to right, the levels are ranked from high to low. The price unit is in USD.

Except for the black card that cannot be directly upgraded from Depay, the advanced cards cost $99, while Depay only costs $50.

In addition, you cannot transfer funds between accounts at the moment, and there is no way to recharge on behalf of others. The minimum recharge now requires 20 USDC.

What about recharging?#

image
These are the networks currently supported for recharging through USDC. Since I don't have so many networks to check the mining fees one by one, I'll use Binance's fees as a reference:

  • TRX 1 USDC
  • ETH 4.5 USDC
  • AVAX 1 USDC
  • ALGO 1 USDC
  • Upcoming support for Polygon 1 USDC (Why does USDT only require 0.23 USDT?)

Too expensive!! Let's talk about supporting BNB when the time comes 😭

Overall, since this is still a service in public beta, there is nothing wrong with registering one. I feel that the later model will be better than Depay?

Now registration requires an invitation code, why not give it a try?
